Indian breakfast recipe

This breakfast recipe is frequently tried in Indian houses. It would not be wrong to say that it is tried once in every week. This recipe is widely served in various Indian restaurants. However, if you cook it at home, its taste is not less than restaurant's paneer butter. You should cook it at home to get the healthier and fresh taste of it. It is highly nutritious food as you know both butter and paneer provide you good number of calories. One in week you should take this dish as it is good for your body.

This Punjabi cuisine is very easy to cook as it takes only 30 minutes. You can enjoy this healthy food with plain rice as well as with roti.

Ingredients Needed for Gravy
  • Homemade Paneer (250 grams)
  • Ginger (two inch piece)
  • Tomatoes (three big sized)
  • Onions (two big sized)
  • Garlic (four pods)
  • Chili powder (one teaspoon)
  • Sugar (quarter teaspoon)
  • Butter (two tablespoons)
  • Red color (one pinch)
  • Salt (according to your taste)
  • Milk (100 ml)
  • Cashew Nuts (ten in number)
  • Roasted Cumin Powder (half teaspoon)
  • Garam Masala (half teaspoon)
Ingredients Needed for Garnishing
  • Green Chilies (three in number)
  • Onions (one medium sized)
  • Optional Garnishing
  • KasuriMethi (leaves)
  • Fenugreek seeds (few)
  • Capsicum (one medium sized)
Method of cooking
  1. Peel ginger, onions and garlic, put them in grinder and make a fine paste of these ingredients. Drain this paste into small bowl and prepare tomatoes puree in it. For gravy, grind cashew nuts finely.

  2. Cut all the ingredients that you have for garnishing like green chilies and onions. Then cube the paneer and put it aside.

  3. Take a medium sized skillet, pour oil in it and let it hot. Put the cubes of paneer, sauté them and remove them. Similarly, sauté all the other ingredients that you have for the formation of gravy.

  4. Using the same pan, melt one tablespoon of butter, put onion paste in it and sauté it. Slow down the flame while sautéing keep in mind that onion should not burnt.

  5. When you feel that onion paste is fully sauté, you should add chili powder in it. Add milk in it and let it cook for five to six minutes. After five minutes, add cashew nuts also in this mixture.

  6. Add garam masala, tomato puree, Salt, cumin powder, Orange color and sugar in the boiling mixture. After few minutes, pour water in it.

  7. Put paneer cubes, onions and green chilies in it. Let the mixture take ten minutes to cook and then add also the butter.

  8. Add kasurimethi in it, let the dish get its taste and aroma.

  9. You can also add capsicum or fenugreek if you like their taste otherwise you can add the number of green chilies in this dish. However, it depends upon your taste.

  10. Your yummy and delicious paneer butter is ready. You can relish it with hot homemade bread or rice.
