Cabbage poriyal

Introduction:
Cabbage poriyal is a famous tamil dish which is not much spicy but is quite delicious, juicy and tangy. Made with very basic spices, cabbage poriyal is quite an easy and quick dish to make. So if you are looking for some new variety in vegetables, then treat yourself by making cabbage poriyal.

Ingredients:
  • One medium sized cabbage (thinly sliced)
  • One big sized onion (sliced)
  • One teaspoon mustard seeds (rai)
  • 4 to 5 kurry leaves
  • 4 to 5 round chilies
  • Half cup grated coconut
  • Salt as per taste
  • Quarter teaspoon turmeric
  • One teaspoon urad daal
  • Quarter cup of oil
  • Green chilies
Preparation Process:
Heat the oil and add curry leaves and mustard seeds and cook until a fine aroma starts coming and cracking voice appears. Add sliced onion and fry till it becomes transparent. Then add cabbage and fry until it becomes tender. Boil urad daal separately and add it in the cabbage together with other remaining ingredients and cook for fifteen minutes.

Cabbage poriyal is ready to serve!
