The color of whole-wheat flour is brown and is obtained from the complete wheat kernel. In bread making whole-wheat flour is used. Whole-wheat flour provides denser texture and nutty flavor as compared to all-purpose flour. If only the whole-wheat flour is used, bread does not rise very high that is why mostly the mixture of both white and whole-wheat flour is used in baking.
