Out of all vegetables, potatoes are fondly eaten by everybody. Let’s talk about some nutritional facts of potatoes. Raw potato contains one gram of fat and 460 kJ of energy and 21.5 carbs. Boiled potatoes contain 0 fat, 405 kJ of energy and 19.5 carbs. If you will roast them and cook them then their carbohydrates and fats will increase in larger proportions. Potatoes can be a great source of in taking vitamin C, vitamin B6, copper, potassium and dietary fibers. They can help you in both i.e. weight loss and weight gains. They can help in keeping health at optimum level.

There are a lot of thins which you can make with potatoes. French fries are the most quick and easy to make snack out of the potatoes. Mix in raw French fries made up of five potatoes, a tablespoon of Bengal gram flour, a teaspoon of red chili flakes, quarter teaspoon of ajwaen and fry them. When done, sprinkle salt over them and enjoy the spicy French fries. Also, you can do with the same quantity of potatoes is that make a mixture of Bengal gram flour with salt, red chili powder, cumin powder and chaat masala with water. Dip the French fries in the mixture and fry them till they turn golden brown. These pakora French fries also taste yummy. You can do a lot with boiled potatoes. Mash them with butter, cream, salt and pepper and serve with roasted chicken or stakes. Mix the cubed boiled potatoes with mayonnaise, cream, peas, boiled macaronis, salt and pepper and a delicious potato salad will be ready. Mash the boiled potatoes, include salt, black pepper, red chili powder, fresh coriander leaves, green chilies, cumin powder and make their balls and fry by dipping in the Bengal gram flour mixed with water. You can also add cheese to make cheesy potato balls. Potato rolls are also very common.

One important thing to understand about potatoes is that when boiled and mashed, they turn to the sticky texture which keeps a binding force in it. Thus, it helps a lot in shaping the meal by including mashed potatoes in them. You can add potatoes in gravies and enjoy them. Including potatoes in the diet of children is must.
