Salan

Introduction:
Salan which is gravy is usually made at least three times a week in Indian and Pakistani homes. To make gravy is quite quick and simple. There are many kinds of gravies which are cooked but down is the recipe of ande alloo salan. This recipe is quite good to be made in winter.

Ingredients:
  • One big sized onion
  • One big sized tomato
  • Six boiled eggs
  • Two potatoes (cubed)
  • One teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • Salt as per taste
  • Quarter teaspoon turmeric
  • One teaspoon red chili powder
  • Quarter teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Two teaspoon dry coriander powder
  • Five cloves
  • Two cardamoms
  • Two bay leaves (taiz paat)
  • Two tablespoons yogurt
  • Green chilies
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • Quarter cup oil
Preparation Process:
Heat the oil and fry thinly sliced onions till they turn golden brown. Add quarter cup of water, thinly chopped tomatoes and ginger garlic paste and fry till they start blending. Add tomatoes, salt, turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, cloves, cardamoms, bay leaves and yogurt and fry till oil appears on the surface. Add two cups of water and cook till gravy gets thick. Add boiled eggs, green chilies and fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
